The information we collect depends on how you use Sunmoon.

1.1 Information You Provide

Account Information

To create a Sunmoon account, you must provide:

• Your mobile phone number
• A display name

We verify your phone number using a one-time password (OTP) delivered through our verification partners.

We store phone numbers using cryptographic hashing techniques wherever possible to reduce exposure of plaintext numbers in our systems.

You may also choose to provide:

• A profile photo
• Bio or status information
• Availability state (“sun” / “moon”)
• Other optional profile details

Without certain account information, we may not be able to provide our services to you.

Content You Share

Sunmoon allows you to create and share content with people you choose.

Depending on how you use the app, this may include:

• Photos
• Videos
• Voice notes
• Reactions
• Messages
• Availability signals
• Other interactions with friends

Most content on Sunmoon is designed to be temporary or ephemeral. See “How Long We Keep Information” below for more details.

Contacts

You may choose to grant Sunmoon access to your device contacts to help you connect with people you know.

If you enable contact syncing:

• We process contact phone numbers using cryptographic hashing
• We compare hashed numbers against existing Sunmoon accounts
• We do not store plaintext phone numbers of non-users

If a contact is not on Sunmoon, we do not contact them or use their information for advertising.

You can revoke contact access at any time through your device settings.

Support and Communications

If you contact us for support, safety reporting, feedback, surveys, or other inquiries, we may collect:

• Your email address
• Messages you send us
• Attachments or screenshots
• Other information you choose to provide

We use this information to investigate issues, respond to requests, and improve our services.

2. Information We Automatically Collect

Like most online services, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information when you use Sunmoon.

Please note that content shared by others may continue to exist outside Sunmoon after deletion.
